Dental Implants

Dental implants are titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jaw bone to provide support for bridges, crowns or dentures. Implants and their attached crowns closely mimic the look and function of real teeth.

Bridges

Bridges are designed to replace one or more teeth that are usually missing from the individual's mouth. They consist of an artificial tooth anchored to the natural teeth on each side of the gap - "bridging" them together.

A bridge is ideal when the supporting teeth surrounding the gap are strong and healthy. Missing teeth can also be replaced with Dental Implants.

Crowns

Dental crowns or caps are restorations that cover the entire outer surface of the tooth almost like a glove. Crowns are used to rebuild broken or excessively damaged teeth, strengthen teeth and improve cosmetic appearance. Crowns as well as Bridges are usually made of porcelain and gold alloy or natural looking tooth coloured porcelain ceramic. They are made to match the colour of the natural teeth and are resistant to staining.

Veneers

Veneers are wafer thin shells of tooth coloured material (ceramic) that are “cemented” to the front surface of teeth to improve their cosmetic appearance. Veneers are typically used to cover stained, misaligned or chipped and broken teeth. They are the treatment of choice used to create the “celebrity smile”.

Dental Hygiene

Dental hygiene is a very important part of keeping a healthy smile. Our Morley Dental Centre hygienists are specially trained in the prevention of periodontal (gum) disease and dental cavities. They are keen to re-educate patients with regards to the use of toothbrushes, electronic aids, dental floss and inter-dental brushes.

Our hygienists will carefully examine and chart your teeth and gums noting in particular: inflammation, bleeding, swelling, and the presence of plaque and calculus. Plaque and surface stains are removed by polishing the teeth.
